CALIFORNIANS who use hands-free cellular devices while driving may be doing themselves a favor in the long run.

That's because scientists still can't say with certainty that placing a cellphone against the head is completely safe, especially for heavy users and people who began using the devices as children. They point to lingering questions over the potential health effects from the energy emitted by the phones, specifically the long-debated risk of developing brain cancer.

The fatal and volumetric effects of Electromagnetic Radiation emitted mainly by mobile phones, Mobile phone antenna, tower, Mast, Transmission Tower, Microwave oven, wireless devices, system and equipment. These dangerous effects have been certified and confirmed repeatedly by many leading medical and scientific research institutions of the world including Ministries of health of various governments, W.H.O. and now have been admitted and confirmed by Govt. of India in their recent press releases.

The attached image shows and proves about the serious ill effects of E.M. radiation released by Radiation Nuclear and Safety Authority of FINLAND as to how E.M. radiation emitted by mobile phones damages the various body cells and causes incurable and fatal diseases.

The FDA and the Tumor

Every morning I begin craving my cocktail — a drug cocktail. My life likely depends on it. I suspect Senator Kennedy will develop a similar appreciation for "drug cocktails" since his recent diagnosis with the same form of incurable brain cancer.

Why our body resists cancer-killing viruses

Friday, 13 June , 2008, 12:32

Washington: Viruses designed to treat incurable brain tumours like glioblastoma were stumped by how the immune system eliminated them at the outset.

Now an animal study conducted by Ohio State University researchers helps explain why this happened, a development that could help improve therapy for brain cancer patients.

The study shows how viruses that destroy the tumour cells also cause them to throw up proteins stimulating growth of new tumour blood vessels.

These vessels transport immune cells that eradicate the viruses, stimulating tumour re-growth.

“This study points to an important side-effect of oncolytic viral therapy that may limit its efficacy,” said Balveen Kaur, who was part of the research team.

“We can now work on designing a combination therapy that will inhibit this effect and enhance the action of the viral therapy.”

The findings of the study have been published in the latest issue of the journal Molecular Therapy.

On The Brain

"U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy."

On Monday, June 2, 2008, surgeons at Duke University Medical Center announced that they had successfully removed a cancerous tumor from Sen. Edward Kennedy's brain.

Kennedy remained awake and alert during the entire procedure, doctors said. By keeping him awake, they were able to map the brain's key areas, like those that control movement and speech, and avoid cutting into them. His doctors were also able to use "neuronavigation techniques" to map his brain's cancerous areas. Doing this helped surgeons to better target the cancer and get all of it out.

Medical researchers have learned a lot about the brain in recent years, especially about the relationships between the brain's structure and functions. Understanding the brain has revolutionized diagnosis, treatment, and further research of a variety of conditions, including brain cancer and Alzheimer's disease. In this lesson, your own investigations will discover how exactly the brain works within the larger network of the nervous system.

Fox Valley Brain Tumor Coalition - Journey of Hope Walk

The Journey of Hope is our major fundraiser of the year, allowing us to raise most of the funds that we need to survive. This event is critical to the success of this group, so we hope you can join us!

With over 750 walkers, the Fox Valley Brain Tumor Coalition puts on a great party the Saturday after Labor Day every year. The non-competitive walk is held on the grounds of NeuroSpine Center of Wisconsin. Our paved ½ mile trail is short enough for nearly everyone to make at least one lap around, and is accessible to wheelchairs! For those who like more of a challenge, we encourage as many laps as you are able to do!

The day is a celebration of those fighting brain tumors and remembering those who have lost their battle. The walk starts with a ceremony at the Tree of Hope, with testimonials from those most affected by this disease, as well as a dedication from neurosurgeon Thomas Wascher MD, one of our biggest supporters.

Once you have built up your appetite from the walk, come in to our party tent for a great home-cooked picnic. We have fresh roasted corn-on-the-cob, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and sweets! Vegetarian selections are available for those with restricted diets.

A huge silent auction, kids games, music, pictures and more makes this party fun for everyone!

As always, dogs are welcome, but should always be on a leash…we will provide water for our four legged friends!

Your registration cost of $10 (yes still only $10 after all these years!!!) includes a great t-shirt with all of our corporate sponsors proudly displayed, lunch and all the fun you can handle!

New this year is our online registration and personal web page, making it easier for your family and friends to support your efforts.
